Founded in 1872 and incorporated in 1889, Genesee was the first permanent settlement in Latah County. The farming community, located halfway between Lewiston and Moscow, has less than 1,000 residents. Today, Genesee remains a small, vibrant town. Although the focus remains mainly on grain and lentil production, they offer small restaurants, coffee shops, and a K-12 school.
If visiting Genesee in the Winter, don’t miss the annual Crab Feed supporting the Genesee Fire Department. This February event has been going strong for almost 60 years!
